East Dorset Open Water Swimming Club’s Seahorse Swim raised money to support the work of the Studland Seagrass and Seahorse Study Group.
For BBC Radio Four’s ‘Open Country’ , Helen Mark was in Dorset to hear how the area around Studland Bay could be affected by a proposed Marine Conservation Zone and how one resident has stirred up passions locally.
Terry Laughlin was interviewed on LA Talk Radio’s “The Simon Gowen Triathlon Show.” In the segment Terry speaks about Total Immersion’s approach to open water swimming, and what that means in the context of triathlon.
Also on the show were guests Daniel Coyle, author of ‘The Talent Code,’ and open water coaches Gerry Rodrigues and Steve Munatones.

168 of 170 swimmers completed the course. First time entrant Greg White from Marlow was first to finish in 27m 33s. The event is now so popular that some entrants had to be turned away as it was over subscribed - this contrasts with the 3 that competed in the first year!

10 years ago it probably would not have been possible to hold this event in the River Thames because of pollution. The Thames has improved considerably and previous races have also featured elite athletes such as Karen Pickering.
There are plans to cover the 2009 swim live on www.regattaradio.co.uk. . If you are attending the regatta, the station broadcasts 24 hours a day on 87.7FM within an 8 mile radius of Henley-on-Thames.
