The fourth annual 3.8km Seahorse Swim on 23 Jun 2013 is now full.

Please find below competitor entry status as at 18 March 2013. Applicants marked with a ‘P’ or ‘Q’ have until 26 March 2013 to remit correct payments due otherwise they will forfeit their application and their provisional place will be offered to a reserve. In addition to the list below, we are awaiting competitor information for 6 places by 26 March 2013, for which a payment has been received.

We are now accepting applications for Reserves who will be offered places as they become vacant, on a first come first served basis from entries received with correct payment. No entries will be accepted on event day.

The fourth annual 3.8km Seahorse Swim will be held on 23 Jun 2013 across Studland Bay, near Swanage on the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset, by kind permission of the National Trust and in support of the Seahorse Trust.

As at 13 March, 196 of 200 places were taken, so you don’t need to be a mathematician to realise that you will need to get your entry in now to be in with a chance of securing a place. The swim will be held in affiliation with the BLDSA for wetsuit and non wetsuit competitors, aged 16 and over.

East Dorset Open Water Swimming Club is organising its fourth open water swim across Studland Bay, near Swanage on the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset, by kind permission of the National Trust and in support of the Seahorse Trust. The swim will be held in affiliation with the BLDSA for wetsuit and non wetsuit competitors, aged 16/O.

Start: from Knoll Beach, Studland peninsula
Distance: 3.8km
Registration: 8am to 9am
Briefing: 9.15am
Start Time: 10am
Entry Fee – £32, or £35 inclusive of temporary BLDSA Day Membership

Awards to the fastest male / female swimmers in both wetsuit and non wetsuit categories and trophies for first local male / female non-wetsuit swimmer over 40.

East Dorset Open Water Swimming Club will hold its annual open water swim across the spectacular Studland Bay near Swanage on the Isle of Purbeck by kind permission of the National Trust and in support of the Seahorse Trust.

The swim will be held under BLDSA rules although both wetsuit and non wetsuit competitors may enter.

Start from Knoll Beach, Studland.
Distance 3.8 kms,

Registration from 8 am to 9 am.
Briefing at 9.15 am.
Start time 10 am.

East Dorset Open Water Swimming Club held its third annual Seahorse Swim race at Knoll Beach, Studland on 24 June 2012. The event was a great triumph for the club with over 130 swimmers from all over the country taking part. Held by kind permission of the National Trust, the swim was over a standard triathlon distance of 3.8km and produced a highly competitive race

Despite heavy overnight rain and high winds, the weather relented in time for the start. The swimmers were delighted with the friendly rivalry in this well organised event held in good conditions.

We extend a big thank you to all the wetsuit and non wetsuit competitors, aged 16/O who have applied to enter the 3.8km swim from Knoll Beach, Studland on 24 June 2012. The swim is being held in conjunction with the National Trust and in support of the Seahorse Trust.

Applicants who have
- applied to enter, either online or by post, but not yet paid, or
- paid without providing competitor details, despite requests to do so
have until 22 April 2012 to complete both entry AND payment. Applicants failing to meet this deadline will forfeit their place in the competition / payment.

We will publish a list of confirmed extries w/c 23 April 2012. The swimmer’s briefing pack will be issued early June 2012. Please ensure you have added admin@edowsc.org to your list of email contacts.
