Seahorse Swim 2016

East Dorset Open Water Swimming Club held its seventh annual Seahorse Swim on Sunday 3 July 2016 attracting swimmers from all over the country. The swim from Knoll Beach, Studland was held by kind permission of the National Trust and in support of the Seahorse Trust and was blessed with good weather.

Congratulations to Guy Giles who was first home and retained his title in the 3.8km wetsuit category. EDOWSC members Emily Clarke and Clare Jevons also won their respective 3.8km non-wetsuit and 2km wetsuit categories.

Entries are now closed for the 2km and 3.8km swims on Sunday 3 July 2016 from Knoll Beach, Studland. Accepted entries are shown below.

We sent confirmation of entry emails to everyone who submitted a complete application and paid the corresponding fee.

Any applicant (online or postal) in receipt of an acknowledgement email from us who has not received confirmation of entry had 7 days in which to send the required payment to complete the entry. Anyone who has sent in or made payment without submitting a corresponding application had 7 days to submit the entry form.

Sunday 3 July 2016 – Knoll Beach, Studland

Applications to enter the 2km or 3.8km event distances are OPEN.

East Dorset Open Water Swimming Club is organising its seventh open water swim across Studland Bay, near Swanage on the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset, by kind permission of the National Trust and in support of the Seahorse Trust. The swim will be held in affiliation with the BLDSA for wetsuit and non wetsuit competitors, aged 16/O.

Start: from Knoll Beach, Studland peninsula
Swims: 2km or 3.8km (non-transferable)
Registration: 8am to 9am
Briefing: 9.15am
Start Time: 10am
Entry Fee – £35, or £38 inclusive of temporary BLDSA Day Membership
No entries will be accepted on event day.

Awards to the top 3 fastest male / female swimmers in both wetsuit and non wetsuit categories and trophies for first local 3.8km male / female non-wetsuit swimmer over 40.

Our sixth annual Seahorse Swim on 5 July 2015 attracted swimmers from all over the country to Knoll Beach, Studland for 3.8km and 2km events in support of the Seahorse Trust. It was a good to see current and former club swimmers winning their their categories.

Confirmed entries (as at 2 Jul) for the 3.8m & 2km swims at Knoll Beach on 5 July 2015 are shown below.

The briefing documents in the 17 Jun email to competitors are available to download here with course maps. Competitors are requested to check they are listed in the correct category and advise any error before 24 June as no further changes will be permitted on event day.

Reserve applications are still being taken on a first come first served basis.
