The storms of winter 2013/14 caused a significant loss of sand along this frontage and work was prioritised to ensure the beach is wide enough to protect properties and infrastructure against further winter storms. Read project timetable.

To celebrate another successful open water swimming season, we plan to meet in the bar at 12.30 for drinks, followed by lunch. For the hardy souls who wish to enjoy(!) a bracing sea swim beforehand, the changing room at Shore Road will be available from 10.30am until noon.
Joan and Ali have organised the fifth open water SwimTrek along the Dorset coast – Sunday 27 July. There will be no organised Club Swim at Shore Road that evening as most will have been taking part. Details of the event have been emailed to club members. who need to contact Joan to register.
Swimming is a sport for life as Jaring Timmerman, who turned age 105 in February, proved when he swam for a world record in Winnipeg on 24 January 2014.
