Thanks Ali for organising the club’s 6th Swim Treck and Roger for sharing the photos in our gallery. With magical weather, clear calm seas, this year’s Iconic swims took us from Durdle Door to Man o War Bay and Lulworth Cove to Stairhole, and for the first time we were able to swim through both arches.
Club members are asked to inform Ali Budynkiewicz (firstname.lastname@example.org) if wishing to attend. Even if you had previously expressed an interest, please confirm that you still wish to participate.
It is hoped that some of the more experienced swimmers might swim from Durdle Door to Lulworth.
As in previous years, our end of season lunch on 8 November 2015 at RNLI College, Poole will be preceded by the traditional swim for those who so desire.
The lunch will be a celebration of EDOWSC’s year with some serious and some light-hearted awards. It is intended to be a relaxed social gathering with time for members to mingle.
The swimtrek planned for Sunday 23 August has been cancelled as the weather is predicted to be windy and wet and we know how quickly things do change. It wouldn’t be enjoyable picnicking and walking that distance in the rain, and the long swim isn’t feasible in high winds.
Thanks everybody who supported our social event after swimming on 4 August, brought food and drink and helped to clear the tables afterwards. Special thanks go to Nicky Sadler for the time and effort laying out such an impressive spread of food which was much appreciated.
Short swims at several iconic beaches along the Jurassic Coast. Meet at Durdle Door Car Park at 8am on 23 August 2015.
Our friends at RLSS will provide a support boat to escort any swimmers wishing to swim from Durdle Door to Lulworth Cove as part of the SwimTreck for which a swim visibility tow float is mandatory.
As with the whole SwimTreck individuals pick which bits of the swim they wish to participate in – nothing is forced and you are encouraged to swim within your abilities.
4 August 2015 after club swim.
We will be asking everyone to bring a plate to share The club will provide non alcoholic / alcoholic drinks.

Just in case you volunteered your services at the Seahorse Swim, the event we planned for 22 Jun at RNLI as a thank you to enable us to explain the different tasks has had to be cancelled due to insufficient numbers able to attend the social event.
The Time Trial and Seahorse Swim are still very much on, and we thank everyone who has signed up to help.
