The film follows their poor swimmer as he tries to swim a few lengths on the busiest day in summer. Swimmers out there will understand!

The Sundance Award winning film BIG RIVER MAN is being released in cinemas on Friday 4 September 2009, but you can see the film before everyone else at one of the three special preview screenings.

Overweight and over 50 years old, Martin Strel breaks the Guinness Book of Records with what can only be described as the longest, most dangerous swim in history. Strel battles through gangs, unexposed tribes, crocodiles, toxic waste, lethal whirlpools and deadly piranhas during his historic 3,375 mile swim through the Amazon - drinking no less than two bottles of wine whilst still swimming.

The Institute of Sport and Recreation Management have been contacted by a film production company who are working on a film in production in the UK.

The company are looking for two female cold water swimmers aged between 18-30, Caucasian and with roughly the following measurements (5′7 height / 34″ chest and 26″ waist) to body double one of the actors for a scene they are shooting in a waterfall in Wales in July.
