Full Moon Swim

There is nothing some outdoor swimmers like more than drifting downstream in their favourite stretch of river under a full moon.

There are obviously huge safety considerations involved in night swimming, but for those that are willing at their own risk, join in a first social swim in Dorset at Purbeck - River Frome, Wareham Quay on 19 March 2011 from 6pm to 9pm.



‘Vibes & Scribes’ Lee Swim 2009

The Lee Swim is one of the top open water swimming events in Ireland and everyone is welcome. The Lee River course runs through the centre of Cork to maximise crowds – a great family event!

In 2009 the Lee Swim Organising Committee is planning for 400 swimmers! Most of the swimmers compete for age group prizes (under 20, 20-24, 25-29….up to 80-84) or to raise money for local charities and a good number just swim for the enjoyment of the day and the cheers of family and friends.



Severn tidal power feasibility study consultation

A study is gathering and assessing up-to-date evidence to enable Government to decide whether or not to support tidal power development in the Severn Estuary.

Ten potential development options have been considered so far (including barrages, lagoons, a tidal reef and tidal fence) and the Government is now seeking views.
