My comment:
We had stayed in Ingleton overnight. Dave had introduced me to youth hostelling at the age of 63. It is never too late to try something new! Today we were to swim the 4 Cumbrian lidos and it was to be a top day in the warmth and friendliness of the people we were to meet. I had spoken to Tommy who was on the management team which ran the Greystoke Pool. He had very kindly arranged for Jordan the lifeguard to come down early to open up the pool at 11am so that we could get a good start. We swam our 90 lengths in good time with Dave again setting the pace. It was a lovely sunny day and we had made a good start.
